Recent Meetings in 2011

In April Richard Lane OBE, President of Diabetes UK, came from London to talk about the work of DiabetesUK in supporting research projects trying to find a cure for the condition. He also spoke about his own personal experiences of diabetes and of being one of the first people in the UK to receive Pancreatic Islet Transplantation and the effect it has had on his life.

In May Mr Gopi Reddy, Consultant Ophthalmologist at Northampton General, Hospital gave a very interesting talk about 'Diabetes and the Eye' and answered a wide range of questions.

On 28 June, Eileen Richardson, Senior Diabetes Specialist Nurse at NGHT gave a welcome talk on the complex subjects of Insulins, Meters, Pumps & Pens.

On 6 September, Dr Jonathan Rippin, Consultant Physician at Northampton General Hospital, gave a comprehensive talk on the various causes of diabetes and its links with other conditions. 

On November 15, Drs. Charles Fox & Anne Kilvert spoke about and answered questions on the problems of Hypers & Hypos.
